Yesterday, Rob Ashe, general manager of
IBM’s business intelligence and performance management unit, and CEO of
Cognos (acquired by IBM last year), gave an
interview to Larry Dignan at
ZDNet.
He told about many subjects, like the consolidation of BI market, SaaS and BI, ERP and BI, and mainly the IBM's plans for Cognos, where he thinks the IBM has advantage in relation to Oracle and SAP, because IBM is focused on the data and the others in transaction systems.
He said too: “IBM is giving us access to places like Brazil, Russia, India and China”. Those four countries are considered the mainly emerging countries on the world.
