Likewise, the challenge remains the same: finding a cost-effective way to deliver meaningful intelligence to an array of business uses, whose information needs vary widely.

Today, a confluence of several key factors makes Role-Based BI more plausible than ever. Pricepoints have come down dramatically over the years, not just for BI solutions, but for their underlying database and integration technologies. Meanwhile, Software-as-a-Service continues to gain in popularity, due to its ease-of-access, affordable cost and negligible implementation time. Additionally, more and more business professionals now know about, and appreciate, the value that BI can deliver.

Tune into this episode of DM Radio as we talk to the experts about the role of Role-Based BI, and how it can help your organization. The Business Value of Master Data Management

Tomorrow, October 16th at 3PM ET, will happen a live Web broadcast presentation entitled The Business Value of Master Data Management, provided by DM Review and hosted by Eric Kavanagh with Jim Ericson, in its program called DM Radio.

According DM Review: "Achieving the coveted 360-degree view of the customer -- or even of a product, line of business or other entity -- is more possible than ever these days, thanks in large part to the maturation of Master Data Management. With advances in automated data quality and matching software, coupled with ever-faster data delivery mechanisms, this relatively new discipline is taking the information management industry by storm.

Unlike traditional, tightly coupled information systems, MDM solutions use a loose coupling of enterprise applications and a master data hub to deliver near real-time master records about customers, products, locations and other dimensions. These MDM solutions help improve the efficiency of enterprise systems by managing the maintenance of master records. This improves overall data quality, because master data records need not be maintained multiple times throughout the enterprise.

Tune into this episode of DM Radio to learn how MDM solutions are helping organizations align their information systems with business goals and strategies. We'll talk to Jill Dyche of Baseline Consulting, Darren Peirce of Kalido, Judy Ko of Informatica, and Anurag Wadehra of Siperian.

Attendees will learn:
- How MDM can yield significant business value
- The basics of Customer Data Integration
- The fundamentals of Product Information Management
- Why data quality must be “baked in” as opposed to “bolted on”
- Trends in MDM design and deployment."

In the DM Review website, you can register for this live Web broadcast.

You also can check out the DM Radio archives to hear previous programs with a variety of other issues.

The Master Data Management is one of the most important issues for companies nowadays. According Gartner: The truth is that achieving a single view across the enterprise, is key to running your business. The effective management and governance of master data is both an opportunity and challenge for many large enterprises. MDM poses unique challenges and requires new relationships between business and IT in areas such as workflow, governance, stewardship and data integration. To be successful, organizations must understand the role of information governance and the impact MDM has on their applications portfolio and information infrastructure. Organizations use MDM to accelerate enterprise agility, promote operational efficiency, achieve competitive differentiation, support enterprise transparency, make SOA work more effectively, and ensure corporate compliance.

Tomorrow on DM Radio: Four Mega-Trends in Enterprise Data Integration

Tomorrow, October 9th at 3PM ET, the DM Review,in its initiative called DM Radio, will provide a live web broadcast called Four Mega-Trends in Enterprise Data Integration, hosted by Eric Kavanagh with Jim Ericson.

According DM Review: "Size, speed, interoperability and economics – these four mega-trends drive the evolution of enterprise data integration, according to industry guru Philip Russom of TDWI. Size can refer to the raw amount of data a company must integrate; but it also refers to the number of information producers and consumers. Speed covers a range of issues, from the latency of data to the frequency of reports, to the cycle time for creating analytical applications. Interoperability deals with the way systems and data work with each other. And economics, well… we all know what that means, but companies can take penny-pinching too far.

Tune into this episode of DM Radio to hear several industry experts discuss these four mega-trends and how they might affect you and your organization. We’ll talk to Yves de Montchieul of Talend, Suresh Chandrasekaran of Denodo, and Sami Akbay of GoldenGate Software to hear what’s happening on the front lines of enterprise data integration.

Business Intelligence Trends: Eye on Compliance

Tomorrow, September 11th at 3PM ET, will happen a live Web broadcast presentation entitled Business Intelligence Trends: Eye on Compliance, provided by DM Review and hosted by Eric Kavanagh with Jim Ericson, in its program called DM Radio.

Accordind DM Review: "Which one word strikes fear into the hearts of modern executives? Compliance! Mandates such as HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley, Basel II and others require that companies pay ever closer attention to their core processes, under penalty of stiff fines, even jail.

Complicating matters is the divergent nature of such mandates. On the one hand, HIPAA requires that sensitive patient data be protected, effectively hidden from unauthorized view. On the other hand, Sarbanes-Oxley seeks to reveal critical information and prevent organizations from hiding financial and process data. Still, there are ties that bind these mandates, and there are best practices for helping to ensure compliance while also improving operational efficiency.

Meanwhile, the rise of compliance has been a boon for software and services companies, who are finding new and creative ways to help organizations remain compliant. Tune into this episode of DM Radio to hear from the experts about what your organization can do to achieve compliance and also reap other benefits from compliance-related initiatives. We'll talk to: Compliance Weekly Editor in Chief Matt Kelly; Oracle Senior Director Michelle Shannon; and Exeros Vice President Todd Goldman.

Attendees will learn:
- The invaluable role of business rules management systems
- How data governance boards can help or hinder compliance
- Why it pays to be responsive to auditors
- The increasingly important role of application logs
- How a strategic view of compliance can pay serious dividends."

The Governance, Risk and Compliance(GRC) was driven by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, and nowadays is an important issue to the companies.

Whether for operational reporting, real-time analytical reporting or business activity monitoring (BAM), operational analytics deliver the kind of information that can successfully guide organizations through even the most challenging situations.

Getting the necessary ducks in a row to accomplish this type of business intelligence can be quite a challenge, however. Dashboards, real-time integration, key performance indicators and powerful analytics are all part and parcel to such solutions. And then there's the foundation: are traditional data warehouses suitable for this task? Or are new technologies such as complex event processing (CEP) and event stream processing (ESP) necessary?

Tune into this episode of DM Radio to hear from the experts – including Forrester Research Analyst Boris Evelson and industry consultant John Ladley of IMCue Solutions – about how your organization can use operational analytics to achieve a competitive edge.

Attendees will learn:
- how CEP and ESP can facilitate operational analytics
- why traditional data warehousing approaches may not be sufficient
- the building blocks necessary for operational analytics
- where companies are employing this kind of functionality
